The Role

Working as a part of the Finance team, the primary purpose of the Assistant Accountant is to provide accounting and finance support to the Sydney bakery. The position reports to the Management Accountant and will work collaboratively with production to ensure the efficiency, accuracy, and completeness of financial transactions and deliverables within the established time frames.

Key Responsibilities

Monthly Reporting

Oversee the production of accurate financial and other reports including flash reports, financial statements, reporting packages including manufacturing information.

Manage Weekly Reporting: P&L reporting and variance analysis, MOs reconciliation, inventory reconciliations and analysis of inventory variances, payroll journal check, and upload, labour variance analysis, expenses claim review and GL checking, bank reconciliations and Balance sheet reconciliations, preparation of BAS lodgement and assisting with month end processes.

Annual Reporting

Assist with end of financial year processes, preparation of annual audited accounts, manage the audit process.

Project Accounting & Reporting

Assist with preparation of the yearly budget, maintenance of Team Leaders Report (TLR), assist with pricing and costing, install and supervise adequate internal controls for asset protection, identify opportunities for improving the efficiency and/or effectiveness within operations, provide financial analysis of product and manufacturing costs and processes as required.

About You

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' solid experience in a similar role, commencing or completed CPA/CIMA qualifications, Great Plains or similar ERP experience; intermediate to advanced excel skills.

Accounting within a manufacturing/FMCG background preferred but not essential.
